Day 168 part one -- Monticello--Highlight of the Trip!!

Weston told me this morning that he woke up at 3 a.m. because he is so excited about going to Monticello today.  I can't wait to get to "watch" him discover it today as he learns more about Thomas Jefferson for a school project he will do in the spring.  It was about a two hour drive to Monticello with lovely fall scenes along the way.  Once we arrived at Monticello, Weston got out a pen and notebook and began taking notes on everything.  It did not take the all-adult tour group that we were in with as well as the tour guide to notice this and comment on his diligence to get information.  He was completely enthralled--and what a joy that I got to watch that.  I probably took 60 pictures while we were there, so this is only a small sampling.  Visit Google+ to see others,.

Jefferson designed this carriage

Jefferson also designed this 7 burner
cooker--grates go over the holes, with each having
a separate fire source for different temperatures

Weston and Jefferson trading ideas on a few things.
Jefferson was 6'2" so Weston as a little way to go--but
I'm sure will surpass that height!
