Day 165--Day One at Colonial Williamsburg

We got up early to get to the village and soak up all it had to offer.  Weston was so excited--I loved watching his enthusiasm during the entire trip.  He is so sweet to give thanks and express what he loves about things.  Here is a sampling of the things we saw on the first day--for more photos you can visit my Google+ photos.  We had a great day and I got to see many things I had not seen on my previous visits to Colonial Williamsburg.

Ox cart transportation
First stop and tour--Governor's Palace

Back garden of palace

Weaponry was used for decoration in the entrance to the palace to show the power of the British

Tour guide in the palace--opulence throughout the property
Furniture maker's shop
Weston gauging the weight of a musket in the gunsmith's shop

Lunch at the King's Arms Tavern
Government House
Inside the Government Building
Inside Government Building
Apothecary Shop
A visit to the Coffeehouse and a sampling of either coffee or chocolate--we went for the chocolate
and what a great decision that was!

Giant tree on the grounds
Sheep grazing on the commons by the courthouse

Windmills used in the colonies similar to Dutch windmills

A visit to the brickmaker where bricks are made in the colonial fashion by hand
using oyster shells as a filler for binding--each brick sells for $6 and mostly used to
repair and replace things on the grounds
