Ruth has come to stay a few days with me while her parents are in Mexico celebrating Mandi's birthday! Win-win situation all the way around! I hadn't seen her since May so was very excited to have her with me--she is such a sweet and grownup young lady now. Early mornings see her getting up to run as she prepares for cross country as her fall sport. She was just home from a few days with her team at a camp in which they worked out and learned lessons on how to do this sport in the hot Texas weather. After her run, she did HIIT exercises (high intensity interval training) right on the hard tile floors of my living room. In the afternoon it was my turn to go to my trainer and work out and she wanted to go and watch to get some ideas of the things I do for exercises. I think she was somewhat impressed that I too do HIIT exercises although my trainer calls them EMOMs (every minute on the minute) which are just one minute intervals of a particular exercise before going immediately to the next while Ruth's are 30 seconds of one exercise before going to the next. She was a great audience, clapping for me when I survived whatever I was doing at the time. We had fun with that--and then of course, after working out so hard, we had to go get some Mexican food! We laughed and had a great time all day and then cooked dinner together. I love having a nearly grown granddaughter as much as I loved having a newborn baby granddaughter! She brought me this loving little decorative saying which means the world to me!
Tracking my 65th year through doing something that is a first for me each day of the year.
