Today we went to the Currier Art Museum for a tour of one of Frank Lloyd Wright's homes--the Zimmerman Home in Manchester, NH. This architect from the 1950s +/- a decade became quite famous for breaking out of the box houses that most people lived in. He was a minimalist in many ways and wanted his houses to blend in to their surroundings. His most famous house is probably Falling Waters. This Zimmerman house was built for a doctor and his wife and is only 1620 square feet but it has some amazing touches and beautiful craftsmanship. One thing he usually did was also make the furniture that went in his houses because he diidn't think the owners would get it right!. We couldn't take pictures in the house so I can't show you all the interesting things done there, but the setting was beautiful!
