Day 62 -- Rain on July 1 in Texas!
The rain in and of itself and a temperature in the 70s today is well deserving of at least close to a first. It's probably happened before, but since I don't remember when, I'll count it. But then there was another first today that happened during that downpour of rain on July 1. Bill had arranged for some men to help us move the very last of BG's stuff out of his apartment so we could get it rented. There wasn't much and it was going in a CASA fundraiser garage sell storage building. About the time we got the trailer hooked to the back of the Tahoe, the bottom fell out of the sky. We left the house anyway because we hoped it would be a quick shower and gone and were worried that the guys who were going to help us were going to be at the apartment waiting on us. We get about a mile from the house, and the trailer fell off the Tahoe in the middle of the street! Bill had forgotten to put the lock on it after we got the trailer on the hitch because the downpour started and we just jumped in the vehicle. So now it is really pouring down and we both have to get out and work on getting the Tahoe backed up right and getting the trailer up and locked in place. We were drowned rats by the time we got all of that done! I've never seen Bill forget to do something like that before, and he was really put out with himself. Then to add insult to injury, when we got back home to put the trailer up, he backed into a tree with the edge of the Tahoe and broke the taillight cover and dented his bumper--not a good day for him! I have no pictures because he would have killed me if I had taken any--and he will probably kill me if he knows I wrote about this!
