Today I finished reading a very eye-opening book by an Egyptian-born Christian evangelist who has a church in Atlanta, Georgia. The book is called The Barbarians are Here and is about how Western Civilization has let in the barbarians (terrorists) into our midst with open arms and how the Christian church has relaxed and even turned to false teaching in order to give tolerance to all, not calling sin what it is. The last chapter was especially powerful. I have the book if any of you want to borrow it to read--it is as I said, eye-opening.
Another book I finished this week is a novel by the author of The Goldfinch (which I hated). But this one kept me captivated through all 559 pages. A little weird with a lot of allusions to philosophy, Greek literature, etc. but a good mystery in it as well. Also for loan if anyone interested.
