In the meantime, Mandi and Jeff were at the hospital while Mandi had her knee surgery, and thankfully Jeff kept me updated on what was going on there. The surgery went well, and she was home by about 2:30.

Day 142 -- Teaching First Grade
My professional life was spent at the high end of the school spectrum--mostly juniors and seniors. But today I got to be a first grade teacher! And, of course, I had the perfect situation--one-on-one with my sweet Clay. We began the morning with math--another first in my teaching experiences. Luckily, I am still capable of first grade math so that went smoothly! We did reading, writing and 'rithmetic as well as spelling, history and art. Weston, Max and Ruth were at it too, but they were more on cruise control so I got to really focus on Clay and it was such fun!
