Days 38 & 39 -- Nothing new and something new

Yesterday I really couldn't think of anything I did that could be counted as a first.  I was busy, but most of it had to do with CASA stuff--which is new every time something happens I guess.  It was my youngest CASA baby's 1st birthday but I didn't get to see him--and neither did his parents which is too bad.  He is too young to remember that, and his foster mother had a little party for him so that was good.

Today, my first involved visiting a new place in Belton that has been here about 6 or 8 months I guess.  I was on my way home from my last appointment of the day and went down the street on which this business is located and thought--what the heck, I'll check it out!  It is called The Blend Wine Bar and is near downtown.  I've never gone into a "bar" by myself before, but I needed a first,
and I had been wanting to see it, so I just pulled in.  What a pleasant surprise it turned out to be.  It is small and has a retail store in the front, outdoor seating on the side patio and the actual bar area is in the back.  They only serve wine, and I had a nice visit with the owner who is a lady who was in the Army stationed in Killeen, but is originally from San Antonio who had always dreamed of having a place like this one.  It is very cute, not loud, mostly had small groups of ladies who had come in after work, tables but also couches and comfy chairs and on Friday nights she said they have a jazz band that plays.  I looked around in the retail part and then ordered a glass of white wine (which was $3.25 because it was happy hour!) and was in there about 30 minutes.  It seems like a really good place to gather with friends.  Oh, and it is "dog friendly"--she had her greyhound sacked out on his/her bed right there by the door.

My phone battery died before I could get the other pictures such as the front and patio but trust me it is cute and the proprietor is friendly.
