Day 34 - Believe it Or Not

Today's first things, really are not me doing things, but those I have known and loved for many years doing things that are just--bazaar, I guess.

Mom has an infection in her foot so my brother took her to the doctor and she had some X-rays taken.  Well, who WOULDN'T have a sore foot if they had a sewing needle buried inside their foot!

Then while she's at her Doctor's office, they are just chatting, and he tells her that he is a singer/song writer and has written songs for George Strait and then he sang and played a couple of his compositions he is working on and hasn't sold yet.  And then he gave her two of his CDs.  This has never happened to me in a doctor's office!  But if in your life you go to enough doctors and doctors' offices, I suppose the odds go up that you will run in to someone talented who uses both sides of his brain--the scientific side and the fine arts side!  And works in Haskell, Texas, America!

The other weird thing I have dealt with this week has been my father-in-law's total change of mind about moving out to our lake house.  He was like a giddy kid about moving out there when I took him to see it.  So I worked a great deal of May getting the house clean, carpets cleaned, our stuff moved out of the way or taken away from the house, and Bill got the TV cable and a land line phone put in at the lake house.  So Tuesday I showed up at his house with boxes in hand to start packing him up so we could get him moved by the end of the weekend--and he kindly declined!  He decided he would wait until we moved out there and got him a little house built out there and then he would move.  He didn't want to miss having coffee each morning with his buddy Andy, who was his partner for many years at the DA's office. So today I spent the day moving our stuff back out to the lake, getting the kitchen somewhat stocked again, putting back up the bed, moving a recliner out there for Bill, etc. so we can use it as a lake house for the summer.

So while these are things that happened to others, they come close to home so they are at least new experiences I have come in contact with this Friday (although I'm posting it a day late because I was, well, busy moving things).
