Day 333 -- CASA hearing day

I've gone to lots of CASA hearings, but today's was just crazy.  There were only 12 cases and yet there were no places to sit in the courtroom.  I've never seen so many people there--everyone must have  brought all members of their close as well as extended families.  This was my first hearing with my newly assigned child, and it really was done quickly--we were second thank goodness so we could get out of the crush!  The judge wanted it to be finally today but it couldn't be because no one (translated lawyers) had filed a motion for it to be the final.  So we will be back on May 21 and little Joshua should be given permanently to his dad.  I'm not even sure why a CASA was assigned to such a short case, but I'll see it through.

Another cool thing I did for the first time today was get to see the inside of the old historical Methodist Church here in Belton.  Master Singers had a concert there tonight, and I had never been in  that church.  It is very old, full of beautiful wood and has a giant pipe organ, similar to the one in the Methodist church in Haskell.  I didn't have a chance to take any photos.
